Womack is no quitter. He said Wednesday he will continue his campaign despite being snagged by his own web of lies.

He simply ordered the press — all of it he could gather, anyway — not to talk about it anymore.

At least I think that’s what he meant. What he said was, “I don’t want to bestrutinated.”

Can’t blame him for that. Nobody, really, who wants to set policy for a town’s entire educational system wants to be strutinated.

But when you put yourself in public life, you might expect to be scrutinized.

Womack did want to set the record straight. He said he did not consider himself a liar.

“It’s just the information I provided to the people is false,” he said.

Did I say a puppy? Just quoting the guy is like spanking a crippled kitten.
